About the position

The Associate, Index Asset Allocation Portfolio Manager role at BlackRock involves managing portfolio implementation for various equity, fixed income, and multi-asset funds for clients in the US and Canada. Responsibilities

  • Perform daily fund management tasks including handling client contributions and redemptions, portfolio rebalancing, and performance attribution.
  • Utilize market experience and knowledge of index construction in portfolio management and investment solution design.
  • Collaborate with developers to enhance business tools and processes.
  • Support management and client-facing groups in reporting business metrics and ad-hoc requests.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders in managing new fund launches and restructures.
  • Analyze datasets and leverage coding to drive investment outcomes.
  • Build expertise in managing large-scale portfolio management processes and complexity around mandate changes, transitions, or market events.
  • Foster strong working relationships with internal teams in Index Equity, Fixed Income, FX, Trading, Risk & Quantitative Analysis, Business Operations, and Client Business.

Requirements

  • 2+ years within the financial services industry
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, data science, or related field
  • Interest in financial markets and portfolio management
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills
  • Curious and self-motivated with attention to detail
  • Experience with SQL, Python, or any coding is a plus
  • Flexible to work market hours
