About the position

The Associate Interior Designer at Renaissance Homes plays a crucial role in assisting custom home buyers with their design selections and upgrades through the Design Studio. This position involves client and vendor communication, documentation of selections, and support for the Design Department's operations. The designer will engage with clients to present design options, create detailed specifications, and ensure timely project management while maintaining the Design Studio's organization and readiness for events.

Responsibilities

  • Explore new design trends to keep Renaissance at the forefront of style and present options for approval.
  • Assist Senior Interior Designer in meetings with custom home or pre-sale buyers to document material and finish options selected.
  • Independently meet with custom home or pre-sale buyers to select material and finish options once fully trained.
  • Create detailed tile drawings, elevations, and specifications for custom buyers and Renaissance Spec home finishes.
  • Track management of project schedules to ensure timely information delivery.
  • Schedule buyers for finish or material re-selections as necessary and communicate updates to team members.
  • Coordinate late change requests from buyers with the construction team and trade professionals.
  • Support the Design Studio Manager in maintaining accurate finish selections for displays and prepare the room for buyer previews.
  • Assist the staging crew for show homes and spec houses preparing for sale.
  • Co-host Design Studio Open House events and occasional weekend trade shows or promotional events.
  • Communicate and schedule all Design Studio client appointments on Zoom or in person.
  • Assist the Design Department in documenting policies and procedures, including communication with superintendents and sales agents.
  • Accurately input client selections in the Mark's System database and distribute updates to necessary departments.
  • Perform errands and general administrative duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in interior design, preferably with a focus on residential and new home construction.
  • Understanding of color trends and finish material application.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to communicate design ideas accurately.
  • Superior organization and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of interior design and understanding of floorplans.
  • Ability to build positive rapport with clients, team members, and other professionals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under time and deadline pressures.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Suite.
  • Ability to sketch and illustrate ideas.
  • Dependable and prompt.

Nice-to-haves
