About the position

A1000xBetter is seeking an Associate Interior Designer to assist with residential design projects. The role involves creating design proposals, managing project timelines, and collaborating with clients and team members. The ideal candidate will have a background in interior design and experience in a fast-paced environment, contributing to various aspects of the design process.

Responsibilities

  • Creates product proposals and procurement of items
  • Verifies material selection, FF&E, pricing, and availability
  • Creates digital and material design boards
  • Manages internal team project management systems, tasks, and deadlines
  • Manages client binders and exit packages
  • Produces furniture layouts and floor plans skillfully
  • Blocks out elevations from drawings with accuracy
  • Produces plumbing, lighting, electrical, switching, and reflected ceiling plans
  • Thorough and accurate at red line pick-ups
  • Clouds and notes revisions on drawing/specs modifications
  • Produces door, hardware, plumbing, lighting, finish schedules
  • Knows CAD standards well and applies them
  • Assists Designer and Senior Designer with any tasks as needed
  • Other duties may be assigned in accordance with company needs.

Requirements

  • Two-three years experience working for design or architecture firms
  • Bachelor's degree in interior design or similar program
  • Proficient in Auto-CAD
  • Experience and comfort working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Flexible attitude and ability to problem-solve easily on or off-site
  • Organized and able to plan ahead and anticipate needs
  • Must be able to maintain good client, vendor, and consultant relationships
  • Highly organized, with attention to detail, and strong ability to multitask
  • Excellent verbal/communication skills, high comfortability interacting with vendors, tradespeople, and clients
  • Enthusiastic, motivated and positive
  • Access to a reliable vehicle and cell phone during working hours
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and be able to drive frequently around the Los Angeles area.
