About the position

The Associate, Investment Grade Research role at BlackRock involves providing quantitative and analytical support to analysts investing in Investment Grade bonds. The position requires performing fundamental credit research and relative-value analysis to reach investment conclusions and make recommendations. The associate will coordinate with companies in specific industries and sectors, track bond spreads and price movements of covered companies, and provide information from conference calls, industry conferences, and discussions with management teams. Responsibilities

  • Provide quantitative and analytical support to analysts investing in Investment Grade bonds.
  • Perform fundamental credit research and relative-value analysis.
  • Coordinate with companies in specific industries and sectors.
  • Track bond spreads and price movements of covered companies.
  • Provide information from conference calls, industry conferences, and discussions with management teams.
  • Analyze macroeconomic and industry trends and their impact on credit strength.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Finance, Business Analytics, or Accounting, or a related field.
  • 12 months experience in the job offered or in a related occupation in Investment Banking.
  • Experience in financial modeling including historical and current operating performance and credit metrics.
  • Advanced Excel skills including building pivot tables, custom charts and graphs, and utilizing complex Excel formulas/functions.
  • Experience analyzing company financial statements to assess creditworthiness.
  • Experience in comparable Credit Risk analysis across company credit metrics, ratings, ESG attributions and other financial measures.
  • Industry research and assessment experience.
