About the position

The Associate Project Manager's central responsibility is to assist the Sr. IT Project Manager at ITSS as well as support the work of the other IT Project Managers. This role encompasses a variety of tasks, including administrative duties related to ongoing projects. The Associate Project Manager will be responsible for creating and updating project artifacts, maintaining communication with project stakeholders through email and phone calls, addressing questions and concerns from stakeholders, preparing presentations or other communications, and entering project data in ServiceNow or other tools as required. This position is hybrid, based out of our Indianapolis, IN offices, allowing for a blend of in-office and remote work. In addition to administrative tasks, the Associate Project Manager will enter and maintain data in ServiceNow PPM, ensuring that all project-related data is accurate and up-to-date throughout the year for various efforts within the ITSS Portfolio. They will also report on project execution results periodically, collaborating with the Senior IT Project Manager to gather and document these results for presentation to the PM Team. Engagement in projects is crucial for the Associate Project Manager, as they will work alongside assigned PMs to learn about project management processes and serve as a backup resource when necessary. This role requires a high level of self-awareness, a desire to develop leadership capabilities, and the ability to hold oneself and others accountable to high standards. The Associate Project Manager must also be confident in building business partnerships with various leaders and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Enter and maintain data in ServiceNow PPM for various efforts within the ITSS Portfolio.
  • Gather and document project execution results periodically and report them as needed by the PM Team.
  • Engage in collaboration with assigned PMs on different projects to learn about project management.
  • Act as a backup resource for project management tasks when necessary.
  • Prepare presentations and communications for project stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated proficiency in ServiceNow PPM.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, etc.).
  • Exposure to or knowledge of project management process models (ITIL, PMI, CMMI, Agile, etc.).
  • Experience managing small projects for part or whole of the SDLC.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as part of a PMO, PM Team, or IT Team.
