About the position

The Associate IT Support Specialist position at Eagle County Schools is designed to provide comprehensive technical support for all technology-related needs within the school district. The position also involves maintaining a record-keeping and work order system for scheduling technology help requests, repairs, and equipment maintenance. The specialist will prioritize daily work activities and share solutions with technology staff through training and documentation, all while adhering to appropriate security constraints. Additionally, the specialist will assist the IT Operations team with the installation and maintenance of networking systems and provide support for online student assessments used by the district. Continuous learning and participation in training to maintain necessary skills and certifications are essential components of this role. The Associate IT Support Specialist must comply with all School Board Policies and perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the technology department.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for all ECS technology, including devices, peripherals, applications, telecommunications equipment, and audio/visual equipment.
  • Deliver excellent support for issues with desktops, peripherals, and mobile devices.
  • Install and configure computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Provide support for online student assessments used by the district.
  • Assist the IT Operations team with installation and maintenance of networking systems.
  • Maintain and oversee a record-keeping and work order system for scheduling all technology help requests, repairs, and equipment maintenance.
  • Prioritize daily work activities requiring technical support.
  • Share solutions with technology staff and others through training and clear documentation within appropriate security constraints.
  • Participate in training to maintain skills and certifications necessary for repair and maintenance of computer, telecommunications, network equipment, and associated software.
  • Comply with all School Board Policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in the technology field (preferred).
  • Technical support or help desk experience (preferred).
  • Proficient in setup and troubleshooting in a multi-platform environment (preferred).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Previous experience in K12 or Higher Education (preferred).

  • Experience working with adult learners.
  • Knowledge of classroom technology and educational tools.
  • Self-directed learner with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Capacity to learn independently and work collaboratively.
