About the position

The Associate, Legal Operations at Hyundai Capital America plays a crucial role in supporting the legal and compliance functions of the organization. This position involves managing legal requests, contracts, and litigation support, ensuring efficient delivery of legal services to both internal and external stakeholders. The role emphasizes process improvement and effective communication within the legal team and across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process daily inbound legal requests, including contract review and legal advice requests.
  • Coordinate department and external stakeholder budget activities and accrual reporting.
  • Update and maintain the Legal Team's business-facing contract review tracker.
  • Manage the legal contract database and Ariba contract system, including documentation uploads and task assignments.
  • Secure signatures on contracts and agreements from the executive team and follow up with business units for vendor signatures.
  • Process scanning and e-filing of all executed contracts.
  • Act as liaison between Procurement and Legal regarding contract assignments and statuses.
  • Execute on pre-litigation and litigation matters, including file creation and information gathering.
  • Process incoming subpoenas by identifying and gathering relevant information required for responses.
  • Evaluate current processes for efficiency and recommend enhancements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4-6 years of high-level secretarial and legal support in an in-house legal environment.
  • Associate's degree required; college degree preferred.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of in-house legal department operations.
  • Experience using Adobe EchoSign and Ariba contract management system.
  • Ability to learn multiple software systems and interfaces.
  • Effective time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to undertake diverse job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task under tight deadlines.
