About the position

The Associate Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing light maintenance repair and cleaning tasks under supervision in a safe and professional manner. This role requires basic mechanical knowledge and competence in using hand tools, meters, measuring devices, and gauges, while ensuring compliance with safety protocols, especially in patient care areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform light maintenance repair and cleaning tasks under supervision.
• Ensure tools are kept out of the reach of children in patient/resident care areas.
• Use hand tools, meters, measuring devices, and gauges competently.
• Explain conditions and situations accurately while troubleshooting.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Comply with all corporate and facility policies and dress code.
• Perform installation and maintenance of mechanical and stationary systems, including boiler operations.
• Maintain campus grounds and perform outside maintenance duties.
• Perform general duties such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and bed repair and maintenance.
• May require on-call duties as needed or directed by the department.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in all types of building maintenance preferred.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and competence in using hand tools.
• Familiarity with blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals is helpful.
• Ability to work all shifts and hours as scheduled.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances.

Nice-to-haves

• Valid driver's license and a good driving record may be required depending on location.
• CPR/BLS certification may be required upon hire depending on location.
