About the position

The Associate Asset Protection Manager at Saks Fifth Avenue plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of inventory and the execution of the Asset Protection Strategy within their designated store. Reporting directly to the Store Asset Protection Manager, this position is responsible for overseeing inventory shortage performance and ensuring compliance with all company policies as well as local, provincial, and federal laws during internal and external theft investigations. The Associate Asset Protection Manager collaborates closely with both customer and associate groups to communicate objectives effectively and ensure that all strategies are executed properly. In this role, the Associate Asset Protection Manager will monitor daily and monthly reports and audits to maintain the integrity of physical inventory. They will also develop internal investigations in conjunction with Asset Protection Investigators. A key aspect of the position involves consistent communication with Store Leadership, Managers, and Associates to raise awareness about inventory shortage results, concerns, and strategy initiatives. Additionally, the Associate Asset Protection Manager will participate in the hiring, development, performance management, and potential separation of Asset Protection Investigators, making recommendations to senior leaders based on the outcomes of related investigations. The position requires a strong aptitude for retail security systems and the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and learning opportunities. The Associate Asset Protection Manager will also provide insights into audit execution and internal audit readiness, ensuring that all shortage control processes are adhered to in partnership with sales support. This role is essential in maintaining a secure and efficient retail environment, contributing to the overall success of the store's operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure the integrity of physical inventory by monitoring reports and audits on a daily/monthly basis.
  • Develop internal investigations with the Asset Protection Investigators.
  • Communicate consistently with Store Leadership, Managers, and Associates regarding inventory shortage results and concerns.
  • Hire, develop, performance manage, and separate Asset Protection Investigators as applicable, in partnership with the Asset Protection team and store senior leadership.
  • Provide final insight on audit execution and internal audit readiness.
  • Work with sales support to ensure shortage control processes are followed.
  • Perform ad hoc responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalency required; valid provincial security license is necessary.
  • 3+ years of retail Asset Protection experience, preferably in a luxury retail environment.
  • Strong aptitude and knowledge of retail security systems and productivity software.
  • Proven track record of identifying shortage exposures and developing creative strategies to address them.
  • Wicklander-Zulawski Certification is ideal.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and technology.
