About the position

The Associate Manager, Hedge Fund Tax Accounting role at SS&C involves overseeing tax accounting processes for hedge funds, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and providing guidance to internal teams. This position requires a strong background in partnership tax accounting and the ability to manage and mentor a team while delivering high-quality client service.

Responsibilities

• Review tax workpapers.
• Responsible for meeting client deliverable due dates.
• Develops and implements solutions to partnership tax allocation issues within the framework of proprietary software.
• Interacts with internal fund accounting staff to provide tax accounting guidance.
• Assists in the maintenance and testing of software, workpapers, and procedures by analyzing changes in tax and industry requirements and suggesting improvements.
• Performs research of relevant tax laws, regulations, and rulings to determine the proper tax treatment of issues.
• Analyzes company financial statements.
• Manage and mentor a team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in taxation or accounting - CPA/MBA a plus.
• A solid understanding of the accounting & tax treatments applicable to a wide variety of publicly & privately traded domestic & foreign financial instruments including equities, debt, forwards, futures, options, swaps & derivatives.
• 8+ years of recent partnership tax accounting experience, preferably in the area of investment partnerships.
• 4+ years of supervisory experience.
• An above-average proficiency in the use of MS Excel as well as a working knowledge of the entire MS Office product suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and proven ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of client service.
