About the position

The Integration and Controls Engineering Associate Manager at Newell Brands is responsible for harmonizing integration and controls engineering activities across manufacturing and distribution. This role involves developing and deploying global standards and policies, acting as a subject matter expert, and collaborating with business units to leverage best-in-class technologies. The position focuses on designing, testing, installing, and maintaining control equipment and systems, ensuring quality and efficiency in operations.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the standardization and implementation of smarter controls utilizing DeviceNet, Profibus and other architecture.
  • Provides SME support for programming of HMI, PLC and DCS systems.
  • Consults with teams on the configuration of HMI software and upgrading of operator station PC hardware.
  • Evaluates integration and controls systems and products by designing and conducting research programs.
  • Develops integration and controls systems by studying requirements and testing manufacturing methods.
  • Designs and modifies equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
  • Confirms system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods and testing properties.
  • Assures product quality by designing integration and controls testing methods and testing finished products.
  • Provides engineering information by answering questions and overseeing research.
  • Completes projects including training and guiding technicians and operators.
  • Deploys equipment specifications and debugs manufacturing processes for production-based environments.
  • Creates standard processes, codes, tools, and techniques for deploying integration and controls engineering activities globally.
  • Ensures all projects conform to Newell Brands established policies and objectives.
  • Creates a network with business units to harmonize project execution.
  • Establishes data collection and analytics practices for identifying opportunities and measuring progress.
  • Develops trials for new methods/processes to replicate best practices across operations.

Requirements

  • BSIE, BSCS or University degree.
  • 3-5 years relevant experience in integration and controls systems engineering in manufacturing and/or logistics.
  • Strong character with the ability to champion the right decision in difficult situations.
  • Demonstrated track record of effectively building partnerships and managing challenges.
  • Intermediate level skills in Excel, PowerBI, PowerPoint and/or MS Access.
  • Strong planning and organizing skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Initiative and follow-up with a strong sense of autonomy.
  • Ability to travel 50%-70% to factory and distribution center locations across the US and possibly internationally.
