About the position

The Associate Manager, Lease Accounting is responsible for providing lease accounting and financial support to clients, working closely with the Portfolio Administration region leads and account teams. This role involves ensuring quality and consistency in financial management services, participating in new business pursuits, and supporting special projects. Initially, the position will focus on lease accounting support, with opportunities to take on additional finance responsibilities over time.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Portfolio Administration region leads and account teams to provide lease accounting and financial support to clients.
  • Conduct intermediate financial analysis and attend cross-functional team meetings, documenting decisions.
  • Perform ad hoc data compilation and accuracy tests.
  • Test and maintain lease accounting systems.
  • Support Portfolio Administration teams with inquiries related to lease accounting and financial management.
  • Review straight-line records for accuracy before submission to clients.
  • Ensure accuracy in major monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting prior to client distribution.
  • Document processes and assist in creating tailored policies and procedures for clients.
  • Train and enforce procedures across the Portfolio Administration services platform.
  • Provide strategic oversight to enhance service delivery models for clients.
  • Oversee accounting operations for clients in collaboration with client accounting teams.
  • Assist portfolio administration managers with client reporting and deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures such as SOC1, AR, AP, etc.
  • Participate in client calls or meetings to discuss service delivery and platform initiatives.
  • Prepare special reports or property management items as required.
  • Support new business pitch pursuits and apply financial policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Intermediate knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) regulations.
  • 2+ years of relevant accounting, finance, or real estate experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in business, finance/real estate, or accounting.
  • Prior experience with database software packages such as CoStar Real Estate Manager.
  • Basic knowledge of commercial real estate preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, equations, functions).
  • Strong customer service skills and effective time management abilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Macro usage in Microsoft Excel is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and proven record of providing excellent customer service.
