About the position

As an Associate Manager in Private Equity Accounting at SS&C Technologies, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Private Markets business management, new business development, and maintaining existing client relationships. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about accounting and have a keen interest in the private equity sector. In this position, you will be responsible for the development of team members by providing technical training and sharing your extensive fund knowledge. You will review client deliverables, which include quarterly financial statements, investment data, partner capital allocations, fund net asset values, and applicable accrual bookings. As the primary liaison for your book of business, you will work closely with external parties such as auditors, law firms, and tax advisors to ensure seamless operations. Your responsibilities will also include the preparation, review, and maintenance of general ledgers, sub-ledgers, and trial balances for multiple fund clients, adhering to various accounting standards such as IFRS, US GAAP, and local GAAP. You will assist in the implementation, onboarding, and setup of new client entities, contributing to the development and implementation of effective processes to enhance overall operations. Additionally, you will actively plan, coordinate, and monitor the quality and timing of various client deliverables, ensuring compliance with operating memoranda and service level agreements (SLAs). Aggregating, maintaining, and reconciling key business and client metrics will also be part of your role, making you an integral part of the team’s success.

Responsibilities

  • Support development of team members by providing technical training and sharing fund knowledge.
  • Review client deliverables, including quarterly financial statements, investment data, partner's capital allocations, fund net asset value, and applicable accrual bookings.
  • Act as the primary liaison for a book of business and work closely with external parties such as auditors, law firms, and tax advisors.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain general ledgers, sub ledgers, and trial balances for multiple fund clients according to various accounting standards (IFRS/US GAAP/local GAAP).
  • Run and assist in the implementation, onboarding, and setup of new client entities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of adequate and effective processes to improve overall operations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor the quality and timing of various client deliverables according to operating memoranda/SLAs.
  • Aggregate, maintain, and reconcile key business and client metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 6+ years' experience in accounting, with a focus on alternative investments funds.
  • Private Equity/Real Assets experience; CPA designation and/or MBA are pluses.
  • Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other comprehensive basis of accounting, with an emphasis on investment partnerships.
  • Experience with Consolidated Financial Statements and Minority Interest.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively and multi-task between shifting priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills required.
