About the position

The Associate Manager, Production Line Maintenance at Tesla is responsible for overseeing a team of Maintenance Technicians to ensure the efficient operation of automated material flow equipment in Production Control. This role is crucial for meeting production demands and enhancing operational efficiency through effective team management, continuous improvement initiatives, and adherence to quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Direct leadership of maintenance crews covering a 24/7 operating capability to drive Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Enforce company directives and accommodate business demands.
• Create, track, and utilize metrics that emphasize safety, quality, efficiency, and cost.
• Track and improve Mean Time Between Failures and reduce Mean Time to Repair.
• Maintain and ensure compliance with process documentation for standardized work.
• Promote cross-training, job flexibility, and versatility of staff, including the development of training schedules.
• Understand machine capacity and implement equipment contingency plans.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience supervising large teams in a production environment.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in a production setting.
• Experience in conflict resolution and team development.
• Experience in new product development and launch activities.
• Ability to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in automated material flow equipment maintenance.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles.
