About the position

Netflix is the preeminent home for best-in-class sports content. Behind it all sits Netflix's Nonfiction Sports team: an organization of people who are passionate about creating elevated and captivating sports content and making it available to viewers around the globe. We are seeking a Production expert to add to the Nonfiction Sports Production Team in Los Angeles. This position will work with Netflix Production Management in executing the day-to-day tasks involved in overseeing a slate of Nonfiction Sports titles. The Associate Manager acts as a key point of contact for both internal and external partners, tracking and organizing vital production information and workflows from pre-production through post & wrap, as well as contributing to ongoing internal projects with cross-departmental teams at Netflix. A successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of production, hands-on experience working on shows in production management, and an insatiable curiosity for all things nonfiction. Candidates should be self-motivated, proactive, quick-thinking, flexible, a team player, thorough, and able to juggle multiple and diverse tasks, with a strong emphasis on organization and unwavering attention to detail. This is a demanding and fast-moving position that requires high performance, a bias for action, and a positive demeanor. Candidates should excel at exercising good judgment and communication even during times of ambiguity.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the key point of contact for both internal and external production teams from pitch to delivery.
  • Manage a team or project and support numerous production team members while working collaboratively with cross-functional partners as needed.
  • Review all production plans, budgets, and schedules to improve and implement best practices for production.
  • Responsible for all production documentation, ensuring the workflow pipeline is efficient and effective as it pertains to capturing all data.
  • Track and oversee all production schedules, keeping things up-to-date and well-communicated throughout the course of production.
  • Keep up to date with Netflix and industry-standard tools, tech specs, and technologies.
  • Attend production events, shows, and meetings as required, representing Netflix at the highest standard at all times.
  • Keep a pulse on market rates, freelance crew, vendors, incentives, and all forward-thinking production strategies.

Requirements

  • 5 years of nonfiction production management experience as a Line Producer or similar role.
  • Nonfiction production experience should include at least one or all of the following categories: documentary, unscripted, and sports.
  • Streamer or studio experience is a plus.
  • A high-performance team player experienced in a fast-paced environment overseeing several projects at various points of production (from development through delivery).
  • A passion for sports content and comfort in navigating the ever-changing plans that go hand in hand with managing sports productions.
  • Experience managing quick turnaround and topical content where deadlines are firm.
  • Knowledge of current trends and workflows for both UHD/4K capture.
  • Ability to be discreet and maintain confidential information.
  • Understanding how to prioritize and respond accordingly.
  • Desire and self-motivation to continuously learn.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Slack, and budgeting software.
  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience.
