About the position

Tesla is seeking an Associate Manager to lead the Quality Data Engineering team within Texas Cell Manufacturing. This role involves overseeing a team of engineers to support various data engineering, analytics, and data pipeline projects that are critical to manufacturing operations. The Associate Manager will coordinate with multiple teams to identify opportunities for data automation and visualization, ensuring that manufacturing quality, production, and cost priorities are met.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with various teams to define data automation, visualization, or analytical opportunities to support critical manufacturing operations.
• Define and lead weekly sprints with your team to execute these opportunities based on manufacturing quality, production, and cost priorities.
• Support engineering investigations and continuous improvement efforts with ad hoc data analysis requests involving complex, multivariate interactions.
• Collaborate with various Software Engineering teams to improve data pipelines and data automation to improve overall engineering efficiency.
• Work with Quality Operations teams to build new data tools that improve operational efficiencies in manufacturing and lab spaces.
• Define and build out visualization tools for various manufacturing quality KPIs.
• Mentor and develop a team of Data Engineers with a wide range of data analytics and software skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering or equivalent working experience.
• 5+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing or business operations.
• Demonstrated experience in developing front-end/back-end data/software solutions.
• Proven ability to build and lead a strong team in a 24x7 manufacturing environment.
• Ability to drive cross-functional projects and communicate effectively across various Engineering teams.
• Strong organization skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all business levels and functions.
