About the position

The Associate Manager, Tool and Die position at Tesla involves overseeing and managing Tool & Die Specialists to ensure efficient production processes. The role requires collaboration with various engineering and production teams to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency in die and mold functions. The manager will lead project management efforts related to repairs and engineering changes, maintain spare parts inventory, and implement preventive maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise Tool & Die Specialists.
• Coordinate with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and Design Engineering teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and department leaders to address safety, part quality, and production efficiency.
• Lead project management of repair, refurbishment, and engineering change implementation projects.
• Assist with budget development and reporting.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and tracking system.
• Identify and order parts as needed.
• Conduct breakdown management and root cause investigations.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (foreign education equivalent accepted).
• Five years of experience in an Engineering role involving automotive die maintenance and repair.
• Experience in Tool & Die work related to automotive stamping or high-pressure die casting.
• Experience in leading and supervising Tool & Die professionals.
• Experience in maintaining and repairing automotive stamping dies, plastic injection molds, and/or high-pressure die cast molds.
