About the position

The Associate Managing Director, Sr. Portfolio Manager is responsible for underwriting and managing client portfolios, ensuring compliance with risk management activities, and serving as the primary contact for clients regarding portfolio-related issues. This role involves client sales, onboarding, maintenance, and cross-selling opportunities, while also mentoring junior team members and supporting risk management efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the client's primary contact/resource/advocate for portfolio-related issues.
  • Lead renewal activities with existing clients with input from Relationship Managers (RMs).
  • Engage in periodic client calls and visits for assigned portfolio.
  • Maintain Salesforce pipeline on existing clients.
  • Drive the loan closing process with internal teams and Portfolio Coordinator.
  • Update and correct identified data issues with CIS Relationship Support.
  • Address upcoming maturities and annual reviews on time.
  • Ensure timely collection of customer financial reporting and covenants.
  • Support closing team in collecting outstanding loan document exceptions.
  • Prepare CAMP reports and quarterly trend cards/reviews.
  • Complete quarterly SOX controls and ensure accurate risk ratings.
  • Respond to approval requests for overdrafts, manual wires, and ACH suspensions.
  • Review borrowing base availability and approve loan advances.
  • Coordinate onboarding and deposit account opening activities.
  • Consult with RM on cross-sell opportunities.
  • Mentor and provide training support to Associates and Sr. Associates.
  • Supply required data for Credit Review or during exams.

Requirements

  • Experience in underwriting and portfolio management.
  • Strong client relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and financial reporting tools.
  • Ability to mentor and train junior staff.
  • Knowledge of risk management practices and compliance.

  • Experience in business development and competitive intelligence.
  • Familiarity with investment research and customer retention strategies.
