About the position

L3Harris is seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Palm Bay, FL. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and analyzing manufacturing plans and projects, which are crucial for the development and production of our advanced aerospace and defense technologies. You will design, develop, and transfer manufacturing and engineering tools, strategies, and systems that are essential for optimizing our manufacturing processes. Your work will involve developing manufacturing strategies tailored to specific products and processes, ensuring that we meet our customers' mission-critical needs effectively. As an Associate Manufacturing Engineer, you will interface closely with engineering teams to coordinate the release of new products. This collaboration is vital to ensure that all manufacturing processes align with engineering specifications and quality standards. You will also be tasked with estimating manufacturing costs, determining time standards, and making recommendations for tooling and process requirements for both new and existing product lines. Maintaining accurate records and reporting systems for the coordination of manufacturing operations will be a key part of your responsibilities, ensuring that all processes are documented and tracked efficiently. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Pro-E
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma
  • Technical writing skills
  • Experience with MS Project and/or MS SharePoint
