About the position

The Surgical Services Associate Manager is responsible for supporting the Manager in the daily operations of surgical services, including the Operating Room (OR), Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and Endoscopy. This role involves managing personnel, ensuring safe and cost-effective care, and fostering efficient interdepartmental workflows. The Associate Manager will also take on specific project responsibilities as delegated by the Manager of Surgical Services.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Manager in maintaining cost structure improvements and resource allocation planning.
• Manage personnel recruitment, hiring, and performance appraisals.
• Develop and update policies, procedures, and standards of care for the units.
• Monitor compliance with regulatory standards and prepare for surveys.
• Coordinate training and in-service sessions for surgical services staff.
• Develop orientation plans for new hires and mentor preceptors.
• Assist in achieving departmental goals and objectives in support of Surgical Services.

Requirements

• Minimum three (3) years of RN clinical experience in OR and/or PACU, L&D, CVL, GI.
• Minimum two (2) years of demonstrated staff leadership or advanced nursing practice role.
• Registered Nurse License in the state where care is provided.
• Basic Life Support certification.

Nice-to-haves

• Minimum five (5) years of demonstrated knowledge in Surgical Services area of clinical experience.
• Previous leadership experience.
• CNOR certification.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field.
