About the position

The Associate Nurse Manager (ANM) for the Inpatient Unit at Upper Valley Medical Center is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality patient care and supporting the Nurse Manager in executing the nursing vision. This role emphasizes leadership in nursing practice, employee engagement, and quality outcomes, while fostering an inclusive environment. The ANM will supervise nursing staff, manage human resources, and drive performance improvement initiatives within the Intensive Care Unit.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the nursing team and serve as an extension of the Nurse Manager.
• Ensure the delivery of excellent patient care and professional nursing practices.
• Support and drive change in the healthcare environment in collaboration with the Nurse Manager.
• Engage in employee coaching and mentoring to enhance team performance.
• Conduct daily nurse leader rounding to support patient experience and quality outcomes.
• Manage staffing and resource allocation to meet care delivery standards.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and execute quality action plans.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; BSN required or must obtain within 5 years of hire.
• Valid Ohio RN License.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a hospital-based RN; 1 year of informal leadership experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure and foster an inclusive work environment.
• Proven leadership ability and personal accountability.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
