About the position

The Associate Operations Specialist (AOS) at the Franchise Tax Board (FTB) plays a crucial role within the Information Capture and Banking Section (ICBS) Project and Analytical Support Unit. Under the general direction of the Administrator I, the AOS is tasked with providing analytical support for various departmental services and projects that are submitted through the Enterprise Intake process. This position is pivotal in ensuring that the projects have a direct impact on the operations of ICBS. The AOS will engage in a variety of analytical activities, including conducting case studies, performing analytical reviews of business processes and requirements, and executing impact analyses. Additionally, the AOS will oversee and coordinate various projects, ensuring that they align with the department's goals and objectives. The AOS is expected to model appropriate behavior for colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the workplace. Clear and accurate communication is essential, as the AOS will be responsible for sharing information through written, visual, and verbal presentations. The role requires the AOS to work both independently and collaboratively with other analysts, management, and production teams to identify opportunities for operational efficiencies. The AOS will also assist in providing legislative bill impact analyses, researching statistical data, and establishing performance metrics for systems and processes. Maintaining detailed and accurate documentation is critical to delivering quality customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. Furthermore, the AOS will provide general analytical support to managers and supervisors in addressing day-to-day operational challenges. This position is hybrid, allowing for remote work within California, with a minimum in-office requirement of two days per week. The AOS will be part of a dynamic team that is committed to enhancing the operational effectiveness of the Franchise Tax Board.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical support for departmental services and projects submitted through the Enterprise Intake process.
  • Conduct case studies and analytical reviews of business processes and requirements.
  • Perform impact analyses and oversee various projects within the ICBS.
  • Identify and track enhancements, incidents, design changes, and defects within ICBS workloads.
  • Share information through written, visual, and verbal presentations.
  • Collaborate with analysts, management, and production teams to identify opportunities for efficiencies.
  • Assist in providing legislative bill impact analysis and researching statistical data.
  • Establish and evaluate system and process performance metrics.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation to ensure quality customer service.
  • Offer general analytical support to managers and supervisors in resolving operational issues.

Requirements

  • Experience in analytical support and project coordination.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
