Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough testing and alignment of complex optical systems within a lab environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to achieve project objectives, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
  • Utilize strong organizational skills to manage tasks and documentation effectively.
  • Engage in troubleshooting activities and verification of system requirements to ensure compliance and functionality.
  • Support optical design and modeling efforts as needed, focusing on hands-on application and testing.
  • Perform detailed inspection of optical components to maintain system integrity.
  • Participate in systems trade studies and vendor assessments with an emphasis on practical evaluation and lab-based experimentation.
  • Mentor and guide new engineers in optical alignments and techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Optical Engineering or related field with a minimum of 0-1 years of relevant experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency with Zemax and/or Code V optical software for design and analysis purposes.
  • Experience with MATLAB for data analysis and automation of testing procedures.
  • Familiarity with FRED or similar stray light analysis software for evaluating and mitigating optical system interference.
  • Ability to acquire a DoD Secret clearance.
