About The Position

The Associate Packaging Designer position at WestRock is focused on creating innovative and visually appealing designs for Point of Purchase displays. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to understand design needs and objectives, and the development of projects using standard design techniques and tools.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Graphic Arts, Fine Arts, or Industrial Design is required.
• No previous work experience required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
• Basic computer skills with proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of 2D animation and 3D programs.

Responsibilities

• Interact with Account Executives, Senior Designers, and customers to ascertain design needs and objectives.
• Develop projects using standard techniques such as sketching, rendering, and computer visualization.
• Produce samples and mockups using various techniques including drafting and model making.
• Work collaboratively with Structural Designers, Design Manager, and Sales to develop customer programs.
• Perform Technical Illustration tasks as required, including assembly instructions and digital photography.
• Work independently or as part of a team on original designs or adaptations of customer artwork.
• Responsible for project development record keeping and utilizing project management systems.
• Communicate project development paths to Account Executives and customers as needed.
• Develop presentation materials for the Sales team and assist in presenting abstract ideas.
• Participate in or lead project review meetings with Sales and Project Management.
• Travel as required for customer support, training, and meetings.
