About the position

The Associate Pastor of Student and Children Ministry at Linden Baptist Church is a full-time role focused on leading and developing the church's student and children ministries. This position involves providing pastoral care, participating in worship, and supporting the Senior Pastor in various leadership duties. The Associate Pastor will work to foster a growing relationship with Jesus Christ among the congregation and oversee outreach efforts within the community.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Pastor in teaching and leading in worship.
• Conduct visits to hospitals, nursing homes, and individuals in coordination with the Senior Pastor and staff.
• Lead in worship through scripture readings, responsive readings, and prayer.
• Promote Christ and the church within the community.
• Maintain open communication with the Senior Pastor and staff for strategic planning.
• Participate in and support the local Association, State Convention, and denomination activities.
• Maintain communication with church members and conduct meetings with the Youth Council and parents of youth and children.
• Ensure prayer is a high priority in the church.
• Develop and maintain a program of evangelism and discipleship for young people and children.
• Provide spiritual guidance to youth, children, and their parents as needed.
• Maintain responsibility for all youth and children activities, including developing a calendar of events.
• Conduct Wednesday evening services and oversee youth and children's activities.
• Promote attendance at summer camps, youth mission trips, and other fellowship activities.
• Provide or approve Sunday School curriculum led by lay member leaders.
• Attend services and community activities involving children and youth of the church.
• Stay informed on methods and materials related to children and student ministry.

Requirements

• Must be a Christian and agree with the church covenant and statement of faith.
• Immediate family must become active members of Linden Baptist Church.
• Genuine commitment to the gospel and a sense of divine call to this role.
• Servant attitude in personal and professional relationships.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
