About the position

The Associate Patient Access Services Representative plays a crucial role in facilitating patient access to medical services by performing various registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and billing duties. This part-time position supports both inpatient and outpatient services, ensuring that all necessary information is collected and processed efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in performing pre-registration and registration duties.
  • Obtains necessary demographic and insurance information and enters data into the computer system.
  • Obtains appropriate signatures on medical, legal, and financial forms.
  • Aids in verification of patient insurance coverage and other related data with third-party carriers for scheduled appointments/procedures.
  • Aids in obtaining patient's insurance authorization required for services.
  • Documents authorization approvals and denials in computer systems.
  • Collects money due from patients at the time of service.
  • May perform billing, receivable, and related functions.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0-1 years of relevant experience required.
