About the position

The Associate Patient Care Coordinator plays a crucial role in enhancing patient experiences by managing appointments, handling inquiries, and ensuring smooth operations within the healthcare setting. This position involves direct interaction with patients, assisting them with check-in and check-out processes, and maintaining medical records, all while contributing to a culture of health equity and community impact.

Responsibilities

  • Answers phones and schedules appointments
  • Greets patients as they arrive and manages wait time
  • Completes check-in and check-out tasks including insurance verification and pre-authorizations
  • Collects co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issues receipts
  • Processes walk-in patients and visitors
  • Manages medical records including filing, scanning, and preparing for schedules
  • Ensures all correspondence is scanned and/or filed and processes requests for medical records release
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned
  • Sets up and cleans coffee and water station for patients
  • Assists with keeping the break room in good order
  • May be required to travel locally up to 10% of the time for meetings or to cover other clinic locations

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of customer service experience

Nice-to-haves

  • 1+ years of experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Strong communication and customer service skills both in person and via phone
  • Working knowledge of general office procedures
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Medical office experience
