About the position

The Associate Payroll Services Administrator plays a crucial role in supporting the payroll and benefit programs of Michigan Farm Bureau and its Affiliated Companies (MFBAC) as well as the Management Assistance Program (MAP). This position is responsible for ensuring that payroll checks and related information reports are processed confidentially, accurately, and in a timely manner. The administrator will coordinate the integration of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger into the Great Plains system for any MFBAC's that require these services. This role also involves assisting in the training of users on the payroll electronic time system, providing administrative support to regular payroll processes, and ensuring the timely distribution of paychecks and direct deposits. Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive payroll data with discretion is paramount in this position. In addition to the technical responsibilities, the Associate Payroll Services Administrator will be expected to demonstrate strong organizational and analytical skills. The role requires proficiency in personal computer applications, particularly in spreadsheet and word processing software such as Microsoft Office Excel and Word. The administrator will also be responsible for data entry, typing, and utilizing a 10-key calculator effectively. This hybrid position allows for a combination of remote work and in-office presence at the Farm Bureau Home Office located in Lansing, Michigan, providing flexibility while ensuring that payroll services are delivered efficiently.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Personal computer experience required.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing applications, such as Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
  • Organizational and analytical skills.
  • Data entry, typing, and 10-key calculator skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's degree in accounting preferred.
  • Two years payroll experience preferred.
