About the position

The Associate Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing a designated base of payroll clients, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing while providing exceptional customer service. This role involves direct client interaction, problem-solving, and collaboration with various departments to enhance client retention and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an assigned base of payroll clients with various pay frequencies.
  • Provide client customer support by being in the phone queue.
  • Manage team member's client base when necessary.
  • Provide exceptional customer service support and resolve client issues and concerns timely.
  • Effectively manage critical relationships to improve client retention.
  • Describe various reports and products available via software to clients.
  • Collaborate with other divisions/departments to convey relevant information to clients.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with clients.
  • De-escalate client situations and identify when Payroll Supervisor engagement is necessary.
  • Learn to troubleshoot and problem-solve payroll-related issues.
  • Interact with clients to obtain payroll data including hours worked and salary adjustments.
  • Accurately key all payroll-related data necessary for timely processing.
  • Facilitate and coordinate with all departments for seamless processing.
  • Attend training classes for new hire and ongoing payroll training.
  • Perform other administrative and clerical tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills and ability to resolve client issues.
  • Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of Payroll Software.
  • Proficient in data entry and payroll processing.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic understanding of ancillary product setup.
  • Experience in payroll administration or related field.
