About the position

As part of our dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining an assigned base of payroll clients, ensuring they receive exceptional service and support. Your responsibilities will include managing various pay frequencies such as weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly, while providing timely resolutions to client issues and concerns. You will be the first point of contact for clients, effectively managing critical relationships to enhance client retention and satisfaction. In this role, you will collaborate with other divisions and departments to filter and convey relevant information to clients regarding compliance and miscellaneous initiatives. Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with clients will be essential, as you will focus on partnership and common objectives. You will also be responsible for accurately processing payroll data, including hours worked, salary adjustments, special payments, and employee deductions, ensuring that all payroll-related data is entered timely and accurately. As you grow in this position, you will begin learning how to troubleshoot and problem-solve various situations that may arise. You will attend training sessions for new hires and ongoing payroll training throughout the year, gaining exposure to the usage of our WIKI library and related resources. This role requires a strong sense of urgency, punctuality, and reliability to meet both internal and external targeted goals daily. You will also be involved in other administrative and clerical tasks as assigned or requested, contributing to the overall success of the team and the business.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an assigned base of payroll clients with various pay frequencies.
  • Provide client customer support by being in the phone queue.
  • Manage team member's client base when necessary.
  • Provide exceptional customer service support and resolve client issues and concerns timely.
  • Effectively manage critical relationships between all channels to improve client retention.
  • Describe the various reports and products available via software to clients.
  • Collaborate with other divisions/departments as the first point of contact for clients.
  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with clients focused on partnership and common objectives.
  • Proficiently de-escalate client situations and identify possible Payroll Supervisor engagement.
  • Learn how to troubleshoot and problem-solve situations that arise.
  • Interact with clients via telephone, fax, and/or e-mail to obtain payroll data.
  • Accurately key all payroll-related data necessary to process client payrolls timely by deadline.
  • Facilitate, collaborate, and coordinate with all departments for seamless processing.
  • Attend training department classes for new hire training and ongoing payroll training.
  • Perform other administrative and clerical tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills and experience in client support.
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts effectively.
  • Proficient in payroll processing and data entry.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues.
  • Basic understanding of payroll software and ancillary product setup.
