The Associate Payroll Systems Analyst at Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) plays a crucial role in the maintenance and support of payroll systems, focusing on all aspects of payroll and time and attendance processing. This position is integral to ensuring that payroll operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall mission of HMH to transform healthcare and serve as a leader of positive change. The role involves close collaboration with the Payroll Support team and internal operations staff to design new payroll information systems or modify existing ones to meet evolving requirements. As a fully remote position, the Associate Payroll Systems Analyst will have the flexibility to work from anywhere while being part of a team that values connection and collaboration. In this role, the analyst will be responsible for understanding payroll concepts and tracking time effectively. Strong analytical skills are essential, as the analyst will work throughout the system development life cycle process. Confidentiality is paramount, and the analyst must maintain the privacy of all payroll data, sharing personal information only with authorized personnel. The position also involves performing ad-hoc projects and other departmental tasks as assigned, adhering to HMH's organizational competencies and standards of behavior. This role is designed for individuals who are detail-oriented, possess strong problem-solving abilities, and can multitask in a demanding environment.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the maintenance and support of payroll systems activities.
  • Work closely with the Payroll Support team and internal operations staff to design or modify payroll information systems.
  • Understand payroll concepts and track time effectively.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all payroll data and employee information.
  • Perform ad-hoc projects and other departmental tasks as assigned.
  • Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), or equivalent programs.
  • General understanding of payroll processing and related system activities.
  • Two or more years of experience with payroll configuration/processing using an ERP system.
  • Understanding of systems documentation, design, change management, testing, production support, and auditing.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a demanding environment with good organization and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related experience.
  • Prior experience with Oracle, PSOFT, and Workday ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of SQL concepts.
  • Prior experience with documentation, design, testing, production support, and auditing.
