About the position

The Associate Payroll Systems Analyst at Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) plays a crucial role in the maintenance and support of payroll systems, focusing on all aspects of payroll and time and attendance processing. This position involves close collaboration with the Payroll Support team and internal operations staff to design new payroll information systems or modify existing ones to adapt to changing requirements. The role is fully remote, allowing for flexibility while ensuring that the payroll processes are efficient and compliant with organizational standards. In this position, the analyst will be responsible for understanding payroll concepts and tracking time effectively. Strong analytical skills are essential, as the analyst will work throughout the system development life cycle process. Confidentiality is paramount; the analyst must maintain the privacy of all payroll data and ensure that personal information is only shared with authorized personnel. The role also includes performing ad-hoc projects and other departmental tasks as assigned, adhering to HMH's organizational competencies and standards of behavior. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in payroll processing and related system activities, with at least two years of experience in payroll configuration and processing using an ERP system. The analyst will need to understand systems documentation, design, change management, testing, production support, and auditing. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask in a demanding environment are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Payroll Concepts and how to track time.
  • Work with a team throughout the system development life cycle process.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all payroll data by not sharing team members' personal information unless approved by the Director of Payroll systems or the Payroll VP Operations.
  • Perform ad-hoc projects and other department tasks as assigned.
  • Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • General understanding of payroll processing and related system activities.
  • Two or more years of experience with all aspects of Payroll configuration/processing with an ERP system.
  • Understanding of systems documentation, design, change management, testing, production support, and auditing.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask in a demanding environment using good organization and communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that may include Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related experience.
  • Prior Oracle, PSOFT, and Workday ERP system experience.
  • Knowledgeable in SQL concepts.
  • Prior experience with documentation, design, testing, production support, and auditing.
