About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Podiatrist to join our growing practice in the Dayton and Springfield area. The primary responsibility of the Podiatrist will be to diagnose and treat a wide range of injuries and diseases affecting the feet, ankles, and lower legs. This role involves conducting foot and ankle surgeries, prescribing orthotics, and applying therapeutic treatments for various conditions such as arthritis, fractures, corns, and calluses. The ideal candidate will possess a doctoral degree in Podiatric Medicine and have practical experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Our goal is to provide the best possible treatment to our patients, ensuring their recovery and overall well-being. In this position, you will be responsible for examining patients' feet to diagnose diseases, performing foot and ankle surgeries, and treating sport-related injuries. You will utilize various podiatric techniques, including casting and laser therapy, to address deformities and ailments. Additionally, you will prescribe medications for joint pain relief and foot orthoses to enhance mobility. A thorough review of patients' medical histories will be essential, as well as advising them on foot care and general wellness practices. You may also need to order additional medical tests, such as X-rays, ultrasounds, and bone density tests, to facilitate accurate diagnoses when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Examine patients' feet to diagnose diseases
  • Perform foot and ankle surgeries (e.g., removing bone spurs)
  • Treat sport-related foot and leg injuries, such as fractures
  • Utilize various podiatric techniques (like casting and laser therapy) to treat deformities and ailments
  • Prescribe joint pain relief medication and foot orthoses to improve mobility
  • Review patients' medical history
  • Advise patients on foot care and general wellness practices
  • Order additional medical tests (like X-rays, ultrasounds, and bone density tests) for better diagnosis if necessary

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Podiatric Medicine
  • Experience as a Podiatrist
  • Excellent knowledge of therapeutic and surgical treatments for the lower extremities
  • Familiarity with all types of foot problems, including genetic abnormalities and deformities
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well with both children and the elderly
  • Empathy and patience when dealing with serious diseases
  • Up-to-date with the latest technologies and treatments in Podiatry

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Epic (1 year preferred)
  • BC/BE certification (preferred)
