About the position

The Associate Portfolio Manager at Brown Advisory's New York office plays a crucial role in managing diverse investment portfolios for clients, including individuals, families, and institutions. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of various investment strategies and the ability to analyze complex financial information. The Associate Portfolio Manager will collaborate closely with the Portfolio Management team to develop and implement tailored investment strategies, ensuring a high level of client service and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in portfolio management activities for a broad array of Individual, Family, Trust, and Balanced Institutional portfolios.
  • Manage liquidity needs and analyze equity, fixed income, and opportunistic alternative investments as appropriate.
  • Utilize financial planning tools to analyze complex financial information for daily portfolio management duties.
  • Develop and implement investment strategies for clients in coordination with the Portfolio Management team and Investment Solutions Group.
  • Perform detailed analyses of existing and prospective client investment portfolios and create client-specific materials and reports.
  • Assist in managing all aspects of client relationships, including trading, reporting, communication, and coordination with various teams.
  • Establish strong working relationships with team members in the New York office and throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably 2-6 years within the finance industry.
  • MBA or progress towards CFA designation is desired.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bloomberg, FactSet, Moxy, APX is a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task, establish priorities, and work both independently and within a small team environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential material with utmost discretion.
  • A passion for financial markets.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in portfolio management or investment analysis.
  • Familiarity with financial planning tools and investment strategies.
