About the position

The Portfolio Management team at Morningstar is seeking an experienced investment professional to join their ranks as an Associate Portfolio Manager. This role is pivotal in assisting and contributing to the multi-asset investment teams, reporting directly to the Head of Investments for Multi-Asset Strategies. The ideal candidate will possess extensive financial knowledge and a proven track record in driving investment results. The position is based in Chicago and operates within a hybrid work environment, requiring in-office attendance three days a week. In this role, you will be responsible for building robust portfolios that align with the objectives and constraints outlined in the Investment Policy Statement, ultimately delivering superior risk-adjusted returns. You will manage subadvised multi-manager bond funds, which includes selecting and monitoring subadvisors while constructing asset class exposures that reflect the views of the asset class team. Additionally, you will oversee multi-asset income-focused strategies tailored to meet client needs. Your responsibilities will also include creating and maintaining a focused buy list of fixed income managers, effectively communicating the advantages and disadvantages of various investment strategies and processes, and participating proactively in global best practice investment sub-committees and portfolio management forums. You will contribute to relationship management for Managed Portfolios clients and engage in marketing efforts through roadshows, webinars, and content creation. Furthermore, you will build and maintain an external profile for Investment Management as a thought leadership brand through publications and media engagements, advocating for Morningstar's investment principles both internally and externally.
