About the position
The Associate, Portfolio Performance role at Ares Management is focused on supporting the Value Creation Team within the Private Equity Group. This position involves assisting senior team members in monitoring portfolio performance, conducting fund-level analytics, and executing performance management functions. The role is designed for individuals with a strong analytical background and a passion for private equity, aiming to optimize the performance of Ares' Private Equity funds and portfolio companies.
Responsibilities
- Track, analyze, and report on portfolio company performance.
- Construct, refine, and communicate complex fund return forecast models.
- Analyze and prepare recommendations on portfolio construction and key investment decisions.
- Participate in the review of current processes and propose improvements.
- Support cross-functional teams on fundraising workstreams and LP requests.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in analytical roles, valuation, accounting, or within a private equity firm or investment bank.
- Strong financial modeling and private equity fund modeling abilities.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proficient knowledge of financial, accounting, and private equity concepts.
