About the position

The Associate, Pricing & Commercial Operations at Verkada plays a crucial role in the company's pricing strategy and execution. This cross-functional position collaborates closely with various departments including Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, and Product Management. The primary objective is to develop and implement processes and frameworks that enhance pricing strategies while ensuring the company meets its revenue and margin targets. The role is integral to the development of the Deal Desk, which aims to accelerate revenue growth while maintaining profitability across multiple product lines and market segments. In this position, the Associate will balance revenue and margin goals across diverse products, channels, segments, and geographies. They will be responsible for creating scalable processes and high-performance teams to manage a wide range of deal types, from large multi-million dollar contracts with global corporations to smaller deals with mid-sized businesses. The Associate will also ensure that global sales teams can operate efficiently and customize solutions to meet the needs of their customers and partners. Additionally, the role involves reviewing discount approval requests and analyzing competitive dynamics on a deal-by-deal basis to maximize gross margin. The Associate will monitor the success and engagement of sales incentive programs to drive total revenue growth. They will also lead independent projects aimed at identifying revenue and margin opportunities, building and scaling these initiatives to benefit the company as a whole.

Responsibilities

  • Balance revenue vs. margin goals for the company across multiple products, channels, segments, and geographies.
  • Develop scalable processes and high performance teams to manage a variety of deal types, ranging from multi-million dollar deals with global companies to small/midsize deals.
  • Ensure our global sales teams can continue to move very quickly and customize solutions for their customers and partners.
  • Review discount approval requests and analyze competitive dynamics on a deal by deal basis to maximize gross margin.
  • Grow total revenue by monitoring success and engagement of sales incentives programs.
  • Drive independent projects to find revenue/margin opportunities, then build and scale them.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a business-oriented function.
  • Undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or similar quantitative field.
  • Strong quantitative capabilities, ability to engage at portfolio and deal level.
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and dig into data.
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence sales, Product Management, and executive teams.
  • Experience selling enterprise products is a bonus.
