About the position

The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) is seeking an Associate Principal, Software Engineering DevOps to provide support for applications deployed to OCC's non-production AWS environments as well as third-party applications. The role involves identifying root causes and automating solutions in support of development, guiding the implementation using CI/CD pipelines in a Kubernetes environment, and understanding Cloud Native applications running on Kubernetes within AWS. The position also includes assisting production support and development staff in debugging environment defects, supporting lower environments for incident and problem management, and resolving complex support issues in non-production environments. The candidate will be responsible for installing and configuring Terraform and Jenkins, developing Terraform code, and building reusable AWS cloud components. Up to 40% telecommuting is permitted.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for applications deployed to OCC's non-production AWS environments and third-party applications.
  • Identify root causes and automate solutions in support of development.
  • Guide the implementation using CI/CD pipelines in a Kubernetes environment.
  • Assist production support and development staff in debugging environment defects.
  • Support lower environments for incident and problem management.
  • Resolve complex support issues in non-production environments.
  • Install and configure Terraform to build infrastructure and automate EC2 instance builds.
  • Install and configure Jenkins for multiple Java builds and automate continuous builds.
  • Develop Jenkins pipelines in Python for build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Build and support a portfolio of reusable AWS cloud components and services.
  • Create procedural and troubleshooting documentation related to cloud native applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, software developer, or related.
  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree, a Master's degree plus three (3) years of experience is acceptable.
  • Experience with Terraform for building infrastructure and automating EC2 instance builds.
  • Experience with Jenkins for handling Java builds and automating continuous builds.
