About the position

The Associate Principal Solution Architect at Red Hat will play a crucial role in the National Security Programs team, focusing on delivering enterprise-class open source solutions to strategic customers. This pre-sales position requires a blend of technical expertise, sales acumen, and strong interpersonal skills to advocate for customers, solve complex problems, and foster strategic relationships. The role involves leveraging existing IT infrastructures while addressing the digital transformation needs of clients.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sales and technical delivery teams to provide optimal solutions from the Red Hat portfolio.
  • Analyze customers' business and technical challenges and apply appropriate Red Hat solutions.
  • Offer pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex services and solutions.
  • Provide thought leadership internally and to customers.
  • Utilize deep product and industry knowledge to offer technical expertise during sales presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Follow standard practices for analyzing situations or data.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI and a minimum of a CI polygraph (current).
  • 10+ years of experience in sales engineering, consulting, IT architecture, or equivalent supporting strategic accounts.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a proven ability to develop relationships at various organizational levels.
  • Experience with modern development practices like DevOps or continuous integration.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to adapt to frequently shifting priorities.
  • Must be local to the Washington DC Metropolitan area.

Nice-to-haves

  • Active IC badge.
  • Experience with multiple community elements.
  • Certified in Red Hat technology (e.g., RHCSA, RHCE).
  • Certified in other technologies (e.g., Microsoft, VMware, Cisco).
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python, PowerShell).
  • Hands-on experience with containers, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
