About the position

The Associate - Procurement role at McKinsey & Company involves working with the Product Development & Procurement service line to assist clients in solving complex operational challenges. This position focuses on transforming organizations through product portfolio management, innovation, and supplier collaboration, while emphasizing sustainability and digital solutions. Associates will work in teams to analyze, design, and implement strategies that drive process improvements and deliver successful business results.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients in transforming their organizations through product portfolio, innovation, and design.
  • Drive process improvement and deliver successful business results.
  • Develop broad-based strategies for a diverse set of clients.
  • Gather and analyze information, formulate and test hypotheses, and develop recommendations for clients.
  • Implement recommendations with client team members.
  • Collaborate with a worldwide network of consultants to shape McKinsey's thinking in procurement.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required; master's degree in engineering, business, operations, or related disciplines preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in an industry or consulting environment with a distinctive career trajectory.
  • Knowledge of the full value chain, including purchasing/supply management, product development, and manufacturing.
  • Industry expertise in basic materials, consumer packaged goods, chemicals, financial services, healthcare, high-tech, oil & gas, or pharmaceuticals is desired.
  • Demonstrated track record of assessing and driving transformational improvements.
  • Highly skilled in problem solving and analytics with the ability to translate analysis into recommendations.
  • Strong interest and passion for developing, coaching, and mentoring others.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong people skills and ability to work effectively with others at all levels in an organization.
  • Skilled in effectively communicating complex ideas.
