About the position

The Associate Producer for 'Meet the Press with Kristen Welker' is responsible for producing high-quality news segments, particularly focused on politics and policy. This role requires strong editorial skills, creativity, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to generate engaging content for both broadcast and digital platforms.

Responsibilities

• Work with editors and graphic artists to produce packages, including the broadcast Open, edit tape elements and develop graphics
• Generate and pitch show ideas, program guests and franchise segments
• Produce political panel
• Gather sound and assist with 'Meet the Press' interview elements and spots
• Produce guest research and write questions for 'Meet the Press' moderator
• Shoot and edit stories for digital and social platforms, and elements for broadcast
• Edit show promos, early release clips and other show franchises
• Identify top news-making moments for NBC News affiliates
• Track competition
• Assist with show archiving
• Edit and socialize breakout clips for social platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, and meetthepress.com
• Assist with podcast production for audio projects

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in news production
• At least 3 years of tape, field and editing experience
• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience
• Must be willing to work in Washington, DC
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
