About the position
The position is responsible for supporting the OwnBrands Manager in developing and managing the OwnBrands Business plan, focusing on the 4P's: Product Mix, Pricing, Placement, and Promotion. The role involves analyzing product assortment, coordinating with teams to optimize sales, and implementing strategic pricing approaches to enhance profitability. The individual will also maintain supplier relationships and assist in tracking market performance and private label growth.
Responsibilities
- Participates in the development of comprehensive OwnBrands business plans consistent with company goals.
- Analyzes and determines product assortment across distribution and retail stores.
- Coordinates with the Shelf Technology Team to optimize sales and gross margin results.
- Develops insights and recommendations for the OwnBrands Manager.
- Maintains relationships with supplier partners to facilitate effective customer solutions planning.
- Tracks market gains, indirect margin, and private label market share.
- Assists in developing and maintaining private label performance.
- Attends weekly meetings to communicate plans to the Promotion Director.
- Creates and coordinates weekly ad plans for independent customers and owned retail stores.
- Proofs ads to ensure accuracy of products and prices communicated.
- Collaborates with the procurement team to support OwnBrands Business planning.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Food Marketing, or related field.
- Two years of experience in marketing, category management, product management, or related fields in retail or wholesale.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
- Experience in negotiations and category planning practices.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Nielsen Category Management, Power BI, or similar systems is a plus.
Nice-to-haves
- Project management experience is a plus.
