In this role, you will be an internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned categories such as Knits and Wovens, focusing on fabrics, garments, sourcing, and product knowledge. You will be responsible for owned, private label, and licensed brand product development. Collaboration is key, as you will work cross-functionally with merchandising, planning, design, and technical design to achieve the best product results from all angles of the business. You will recommend new ideas and methods for construction and execution, while also anticipating and proactively tackling potential raw material, margin, sourcing, and execution issues. Additionally, you will assist in negotiations, product development, adoption, sourcing, vendor allocation, and production processes across multiple market and product development vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Be an internal SME for assigned categories such as Knits and Wovens (Fabrics, Garments, Sourcing, and Product Knowledge).
  • Oversee owned, private label, and licensed brand product development.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with merchandising, planning, design, and technical design to achieve best product results.
  • Recommend new ideas and methods for construction and execution.
  • Anticipate and proactively tackle potential raw material, margin, sourcing, and execution issues.
  • Assist in negotiations, product development, adoption, sourcing, vendor allocation, and production processes across multiple market and product development vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion, Business, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in product development in the apparel industry.
  • Strong project management skills and experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of apparel manufacturing processes, textile sourcing, and product development.
  • Familiarity with product development software such as Adobe Illustrator and PLM systems.
