About the position

Our client is seeking an Associate Product Developer who will be an individual contributor responsible for coordinating the development and execution of product from design intent to production. This role is crucial in ensuring that the product development process runs smoothly and efficiently, from the initial design phase through to production. The Associate Product Developer will create and maintain development documents and reports, ensuring that all timeframes are being met throughout the process. The responsibilities of this position include sample tracking, where the individual will be responsible for tracking and checking in samples, ensuring that the system is updated by region, and maintaining the accuracy of information. The Associate Product Developer will work closely with regional teams to obtain estimated time of arrivals (ETAs) for samples, create and distribute weekly reports, conduct risk assessments, troubleshoot issues, and check samples for accuracy. Additionally, they will prioritize samples based on their level of importance and request proto, color, and sheerness samples in the system. In terms of Flex System responsibilities, the Associate Product Developer will handle data entry, maintain the CC Chart, run reports, and update the BOM. They will also be involved in product solutions by organizing color sample pass-offs to regions and vendors, sending development packages and tech packs, tracking sent packages, and logging their arrival. Participation in handoff meetings, color blitzes, and sample pass-off meetings is also expected. The role requires attendance at key meetings, including weekly cross-functional team meetings, color blitz/sample pass-offs, key milestone meetings, weekly fittings, and team meetings. The Associate Product Developer will also play a role in talent management by assisting and training new hires during their onboarding phase and creating Individual Development Plans (IDP) and Performance Plans (PPO).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development and execution of product from design intent to production.
  • Create and maintain development documents/reports ensuring timeframes are being met.
  • Track and check in samples, ensuring system updates by region.
  • Maintain accuracy of information and work with regions to get ETAs.
  • Create and distribute weekly reports on sample tracking.
  • Conduct risk assessments and troubleshoot issues related to samples.
  • Check samples for accuracy and work with regional and cross-functional partners on quality call outs.
  • Prioritize samples by level of importance and request proto, color, and sheerness samples in the system.
  • Handle data entry and maintain CC Chart and BOM.
  • Organize color sample pass-offs to regions/vendors and send development packages/Tech Packs.
  • Track sent packages and log their arrival.
  • Attend weekly cross-functional team meetings and maintain/update agendas.
  • Participate in key meetings such as color blitz/sample pass-offs and weekly fittings.
  • Assist/train new hires in the onboarding phase and create IDP/PPO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business/product development or related area or equivalent experience.
  • 1 - 3 years of related experience in product development or a similar field.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and result-driven communication skills with business partners.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Basic knowledge of Flex PLM and Salesforce preferred.
  • Ability to work as a team player and foster teamwork with other associates.
  • Ability to communicate design aesthetic direction to vendors/regional offices.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of garment construction.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.
