The Associate Product Developer at Speedo USA plays a crucial role in the development of high-quality swimwear products while managing costs and timelines. The Associate Product Developer will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day development processes, ensuring that all product specifications are met and that communication flows smoothly between various departments and overseas vendors. In this role, the Associate Product Developer will maintain consistency and accuracy in the information shared between design, development, raw materials, and vendors. They will synthesize data from multiple sources, evaluate product data attributes in the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, and manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) throughout the development cycle. The position requires tracking approvals on prints, colors, trims, and other materials to adhere to the project calendar. Additionally, the Associate Product Developer will plan and coordinate development activities to ensure timely completion based on seasonal go-to-market (GTM) calendar milestones, such as submittals and sampling. The role also involves identifying and escalating potential breakdowns during the product lifecycle to relevant business managers, helping to find solutions, and communicating these to the appropriate teams. Daily communication with overseas stakeholders and vendors is essential to address all product development matters effectively. The Associate Product Developer will also participate in managing Speedo Supply Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Operational Excellence reporting, contributing insights from the supply team to enhance overall performance. Responsibilities

  • Maintain consistency and accuracy of information flow between design, development, raw materials, and overseas vendors.
  • Synthesize data from multiple sources and departments.
  • Evaluate and validate product data attributes in PLM system including BOM management throughout the development cycle.
  • Responsible for tracking approvals on print, color, trim, and other materials to keep on-time calendar.
  • Plan and coordinate development activities to ensure timely completion based on seasonal GTM calendar milestones (submittals, sampling, etc.).
  • Identify & escalate any potential breakdowns during the product life cycle to relevant business managers and help identify solutions.
  • Communicate daily with overseas business stakeholders and vendors on all product development matters.
  • Participate in management of Speedo Supply KPI and Operational Excellence reporting with contributions from appropriate supply team members.

Requirements

  • Fast learner with 3+ years relevant experience in a fast-paced, end-to-end product management and supply-driven environment within the apparel industry.
  • Apparel development experience in swim, lifestyle, or SMU categories.
  • Efficient and precise communication skills to relay messaging across internal & overseas teams and get desired feedback.
  • Previous knowledge of working in Product Data Management & ERP system preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially in Excel.
  • Attention to detail and flexible attitude to switch from one project to another on short notice.
  • Strong follow-up traits to keep cross-functional teams on track for successful execution of business on a day-to-day basis.
