About the position

The Associate Product Developer at the IRONMAN Group is a vital role that focuses on the coordination and execution of product development from the initial design phase through to production. This position is an individual contributor role that requires a proactive approach to managing the development process, ensuring that all timelines and quality standards are met. The Associate Product Developer will work closely with the Merchandise Product Developers to assist in the daily operations of a specific segment of the merchandise assortment, contributing significantly to the overall product development process. This includes coordinating samples, line plans, and artboards for the product development team, which is essential for maintaining the flow of information and ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned on project goals. In this role, the Associate Product Developer will be responsible for preparing and distributing artboards and tech packs to vendors, utilizing software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. This technical proficiency is crucial for creating accurate and visually appealing product representations that meet the company's standards. Additionally, the Associate Product Developer will assist in identifying and evaluating key vendors in collaboration with the product development and category teams, ensuring that the best materials and services are utilized in the product development process. The position also involves attending weekly team and cross-functional merchandise meetings to stay updated on project progress and to contribute to discussions regarding product strategies. Maintaining data integrity is another critical aspect of this role, as the Associate Product Developer will be tasked with updating and maintaining various reports, documents, and a photo library to ensure that all information is current and accessible. Furthermore, reviewing weekly sales reports to identify key drivers and department trends will help inform future product development decisions, allowing the company to stay competitive in the market. Staying relevant on current market trends, including vendor capabilities, materials, art styles, and silhouettes, is essential for the success of the product line and the overall brand.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Merchandise Product Developers with the day-to-day operations of a segment of the merchandise assortment.
  • Contribute to the overall product development process by coordinating samples, line plans, and artboards for the product development team.
  • Prepare and distribute artboards and tech packs to vendors using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university with a major in marketing, or Fashion and Textile Merchandising.
  • 2+ years of retail experience in an operation or buying environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends when required, willingness and ability to travel to select events.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Excellent judgment and discretion; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle work-related stress is required.
