About the position

The Associate Product Developer at FUN.com is a creative and detail-oriented role focused on managing the product development process for Halloween-themed products. This position involves collaborating with designers and factory partners to ensure high-quality production from concept to final product, while also addressing any challenges that arise during development.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate tech packs and specs to communicate construction, design, and sizing details for each project to overseas partners and factories.
  • Meet with designers to discuss project specifications and design direction of a project.
  • Communicate with factory partners to produce samples and work through development problems.
  • Meet with product developers to review and approve sample photos.
  • Participate in sample reviews to document and communicate any revisions to projects accordingly.
  • Actively work to minimize sampling and production costs.
  • Review costing with team, managers, and buying team as needed.
  • Work with internal departments to make sure all deadlines and development requirements are being met.
  • Connect with licensing specialists to gain approval and ensure quality standards of licensed projects.
  • Work directly with multimedia teams to provide direction on styling, image editing, and overall aesthetic to best display project character.
  • Communicate roadblocks to leadership to help keep projects moving.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Work history that demonstrates a high level of attention to detail.
  • Understanding of the project management process: Initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing projects.
  • Strong communication with business partners who may be less than fluent in English.
  • Thorough understanding of garment construction, project costing, and different material types.
  • Thorough understanding of factory capabilities and limitations.
  • Strong applied knowledge in project costing.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1-2 years in product development.
  • 1-2 years of experience in garment creation and/or manufacturing.
  • Experience working with Chinese suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • College degree in garment production, product development, or equivalent work experience.
