About the position

The Manager of Product Development and Production at Spanx is responsible for overseeing the entire product development and production process, from concept ideation to final product delivery. This role focuses on driving innovation, quality, and efficiency in apparel manufacturing, ensuring that all key timelines and development deadlines are met while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage product life cycle from concept ideation to final garment delivery.
  • Execute and deliver on all key T&A dates and development deadlines (protos, fits, commit dates, production start dates, etc.).
  • Analyze costing during the development process and work with the manager for final price negotiations.
  • Attend fit sessions from concept to TOP approval.
  • Partner cross-functionally for garment construction reviews and final approvals prior to production.
  • Participate in weekly Cross Functional Team meetings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Tech Design, Merchandising, Materials & Color, QA, Planning) to achieve product development milestones and margin goals.
  • Deliver all development samples on time for line reviews, from concept through adoption, that meet cost and aesthetic expectations.
  • Manage Purchase Order process to ensure product is ordered, produced, and shipped on time.
  • Support sourcing strategy and own daily vendor management by communicating with and managing factory relationships, capacity planning, forecasting, and seasonal projections.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years' experience in production/sourcing role.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Understanding of product development, production, garment construction, garment costing, and fabric construction.
  • Results focused with strong attention to detail and effective time management skills.
  • Creative problem solver and strategic thinker that proactively seeks opportunities to drive positive change.
  • Ability to provide cross-functional leadership and influence peers in terms of calendar and problem solving.
  • Clear communicator with ability to adapt to different situations and personalities.
  • Intermediate/advanced skills in Microsoft Suite (Office, Excel).
