About the position

Eckert Seamans, a national, full-service AmLaw 200 firm, is seeking a motivated Associate to join the Product Liability Defense team in our Philadelphia or Harrisburg office. This position offers exceptional experience working closely with our attorneys and clients, providing a unique opportunity to engage in all phases of civil litigation. The ideal candidate will be involved in conducting factual investigations and discovery, preparing pleadings, taking depositions, and preparing substantive motions in both Pennsylvania state and federal courts. This role is designed for individuals who are eager to contribute to a collaborative environment and are looking to grow their legal expertise in product liability defense. The Associate will be expected to manage a variety of active matters independently, demonstrating strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. The position requires excellent academic credentials, along with exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as the Associate will be working closely with clients and colleagues. Prior judicial clerkship experience is considered a plus, as it provides valuable insight into the judicial process and enhances the candidate's litigation skills. Responsibilities

  • Conduct factual investigations and discovery related to product liability cases.
  • Prepare pleadings and substantive motions for Pennsylvania state and federal courts.
  • Take depositions and manage court appearances.
  • Independently manage a variety of active matters.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and clients to develop case strategies.

Requirements

  • Four (4) to six (6) years of civil litigation experience, preferably in product liability defense.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a variety of active matters independently.
  • Court and deposition experience strongly preferred.
  • Pennsylvania bar admission required.

Nice-to-haves
