About the position

The Associate Product Manager (Marketing) plays a crucial role in the product management team, focusing on leading cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and analyze various business initiatives. This general management position carries P&L responsibility and involves developing strategic business and marketing plans to meet product volume and profit objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Product Manager in achieving volume and profit objectives for assigned categories reflecting overall corporate goals.
  • Seamlessly execute business plans to deliver against category financial and share objectives.
  • Monitor performance measurements to ensure category is tracking against goals and recommend corrective actions.
  • Analyze data to identify insights and translate them into business initiatives to drive results.
  • Lead in the development and execution of product and packaging design plans including concept development, feasibility, validation, execution, customer sell-in, and tracking of in-market performance.
  • Participate in monthly volume forecasts for assigned categories, coordinating between Demand and Supply Planning to deliver best-in-class forecast accuracy.
  • Implement product specification changes and monitor production and inventory levels of key items.
  • Develop a strong understanding and technical competencies of Tyson systems and processes as well as customer packaging development systems.
  • Engage and lead cross-functional teams for assigned projects and participate in customer sales calls and meetings.
  • Monitor industry trends, market share, and competitive activity.
  • Work closely with Customer Marketing on category selling tools development and execution of promotional initiatives and sales communications.
  • Collaborate with the sales organization to understand and integrate customer strategies in business and brand plans.
  • Proactively work with Sales Strategy and Planning partners to ensure forecast accuracy, maximize opportunities, and develop plans to deliver against objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills are required.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong collaborator with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
